I sure hope that with no response or personal emails posted that this was
taken into consideration, but I feel that it may not have been seen.
Therefore, hoping I am not stepping on anyone's toes, I am reposting this.
I hope this very logical idea does get some consideration, because only one
dollar a shirt is a dirty rotten crime.

THIS T-SHIRT THING IS A CRIME!

From the sales page:

"$13.99 of the price ($16.99 on the oversize shirts) of each shirt goes to
CafePress.com to cover their costs and the remainder helps support LUGNET. "

I am sorry, but you guys are crazy!  CafePress is making a killing off of
your logo. You make only $1? There is such a demand for Lugnet logo
merchandise that you all should re-evaluate your position.

First off, Logo shirts don't cost $13.99. Look at this link:

http://www.handsandhearts.org/merchandise.htm

When I started Hands and Hearts, I needed a fundraiser for the brand new
non-profit.  I looked into Logo t-shirts, and found a gold mine.  For a 2
sided logo shirt, full back and partial breast with a three color logo is
only $3.50 a piece. I sell the shirts for $10, but I could easily sell them
for more.  I know Lugnet could sell its logo shirts for $15+++.  I make
$6.50 a t-shirt.  Lugnet right now makes $1.

Now, we all know that there is a reasonable demand for Lugnet logo
merchandise.  However, I do understand that there is a challenge with
holding an inventory: monetary investment.  Well, there is a way around that
too...

Here is what you guys need to do:

1.  Decide on 1 shirt design and 2 or 3 shirt colors.
2.  Put a page on the site that sells that item for $15 each and use a
paypal or similar type shopping cart service to manage it.  Be sure to add a
shipping fee.
3.  Announce the launch of the sales in the newsgroup.
4.  Let people buy all the shirts they want.
5.  Hold all orders for 2 weeks, and then process them all at once.  You now
have the money to buy your shirts with in your hand.
6.  So now, order the t-shirts.  They will cost around $2-$4 each.
7.  2 weeks later, the order will come in.
8.  Box, tape up, and ship the orders.
8.  Pocket from $13-$11 each.  WAAAAAY more than $1 each from CafePress.
9.  Begin again at Step 4.

The above system requires no monetary investment, and will make Lugnet so
much money, you won't know what to do with it.  As time passes, introduce
new designs to keep people buying.  It may be just a bit more work, but oh
so worth it.

I hope  didn't offend anyone by stating my thoughts, but this did need to be
said.  I hope the Admin does consider my suggestions, because if you do,
Lugnet may never be financially opressed again.  Suz, there may be so much
money, you may be able to quit your other job and pay yourself a good salary
while doing what you love.
