Re: Cracking down on unauthorized image links

(...) I agree with all of the above (in principle); those were some of my first thoughts as well. But like I said before, "All of these [gripes of his] are tangible concerns which are likely to resurface again and again among the general Internet (...) (...) I don't think Scott named anyone in particular in connection with that label. He may even have been referring to a brief mail that I sent him. (...) I think this is best dropped. I don't think Scott broke any of the T&C, either. The closest (...) (24 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.terms)

Re: Howto message search with nntp client

(...) NNTP (and SMTP and many other Internet protocols) are designed in such a way that extensions are welcomed -- as long as (typically) they're identified as such. For example, another NNTP extension which is popular is the 'XOVER' command -- it (...) (25 years ago, 4-Jun-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: New Site - The Unofficial Lego Technic Service Catalog is now online

(...) New LEGO-related site advertisments should not be posted to lugnet.faq . Within the realm of lugnet.general possibly, lugnet.announce certainly, but not lugnet.faq . Please do not use this newsgroup for this purpose. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.faq, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Howto message search with nntp client

(...) Oops, the search text was indeed transmitted. BTW, RFC 0997 mentions no command "XPAT", so I don't know where Netscape Communicator got *that* from. Perhaps Microsoft isn't the only company trying to redefine the Internet. :-P Cheers, - (...) (25 years ago, 4-Jun-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

If you're subscribed to the lugnet.trains newsgroup via the lugnet.trains@lugnet.com gateway, here's a page to manage your e-mail subscription to that: (URL) if you're subscribed to lots of lists, you can manage multiple at once here: (URL) (...)   Minor tweak

I agree the red "Posting Message" is a good thing, and the preview, etc. setup is very good. I don't even want to think about going back to a regular newsgroup format - I don't even have newsgroups installed on my PC anymore. Kudos on your great (...) I got it off (URL) - not exactly the most official place to find it but they must have got it from somewhere. (...) (25 years ago, 30-May-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Jonathan Wilson's posting privileges on LUGNET

(...) I think I'm with Larry on this one. While a .sig is certainly traditional, I wouldn't go so far as to call it required by netiquette. (Especially in cases like lugnet, where there's not much fear of the header info being lost.) And actually, (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Transient delivery failures?

(...) Apparently, it's from a misbehaving mailer daemon which is ignoring the 'Errors-To:' header on the outgoing news-by-mail message for the .technic newsgroup when it was sent via e-mail to e-mail subscribers.   Bad seller need advice

I recently bought a large lot from a seller on Ebay. The lot was said to include no "imitations" but about 15% are imitations. I contacted the seller and he said deal with it and refuses to refund my money. I have contacted Ebay and sent a U.S.P.S. (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
