  Re: Membership

Hi, Todd and I intend to mail out another batch as soon as things settle down here (house is in physical transition). There's a pile of 250 or so almost ready. After that bunch, Todd would be the one to ask. I'm sorry for the long wait. -Suz (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.admin.general)

(...) I don't think it's normally illegal, no, although I would be surprised if there weren't at least a few gray or semi-gray areas lurking there vis-a-vis publishing links to unannounced products. Just because my kids already know that word, know what it means and all, and have heard it used before doesn't mean that I want them reading it HERE. (1) You (...) (...) Why not do this: Shut off posting by mail completely. Let people read, but not post. A point to note (to any reading, not just the thread participants), it used to be that in order to get your sign in password, you had to wait for the mail to arrive, as it was printed there, and Todd wasn't keen on sending it out by email. What do you use to run LUGNET? IE: Is it a 'canned' package that does all the Web HTML, NNTP, Email Notify on post stuff and so on or were you just totally god like with internet protocols, read the RFCs over coffee and wrote your own thing?
