Re: Codes for New Colors (was: Sand Red Bricks)

(...) Yes, but there are some problems: 1. LDraw (and LEdit) can't be changed to render new colors. So if we arbitrarily select color codes in the 0 - 255 range, the old programs won't work. 2. LDraw renders colors 17-31 the same as colors 1-15 (...) (23 years ago, 2-Oct-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Codes for New Colors (was: Sand Red Bricks)

(...) I always thought the RGBs in the FAQ were supposed to be approximations of the 'real colors'. LDraw's palette is a poor match for real LEGO, and I'd hate to be stuck with it's selections. Although there were some values that we didn't have any (...) (23 years ago, 2-Oct-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Lawrence... if I may make a suggestion.... Take a moment (or two) to tell the company exactly what it is that's bothering you about the catalog. (...) Not answering for Lawrence; these are my opinions. After I read the catalog, I was struck (and dismayed) by one thing above all: No new major System theme entries for 2002, except Harry Potter (which debuted early for film schedule reasons). (...)   Re: Goodbye Lego and thanks for all the bricks

(...) "System" to me is more about an interconnected play world, with original, open themes, than it is about the particular form of the figures. Playmobil has its own "system," for example. Lego could conceivably develop a new one based on a (...) (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

Can't you move this to "dear-lego"? This tirade really has little to do with lego direct, and if I wanted to read all the whining about lego not making toys you like anymore, I would read dear-lego. Frankly, LEGO Direct is doing a lot of things (...) (23 years ago, 13-Nov-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: how perfect....

This is why I'd prefer bricks for the cell walls instead of plates. If a block is hung up on a brick wall it is obviously out of shape, but if its hanging on the edge of a plate wall it becomes more of a judgement call. I feel the block should be (...)
