Re: Newfound growth or splintering the existing base?

(...) Calum, I think the base needs to expand, not only to support the events and grow them, but to maintain the community. If I had a 2x4 brick for everyone that said on the LUGNET newsgroups that they were going to stop buying LEGO bricks or stop (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

It also can't be taken as a loss to the community--come on Dave, Chris paid for it fair and square. These (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Let's Talk about the 2007 Sets

To those interested in 2007 sets, Man I am jazzed by what has leaked out for 2007 and is currently out for 2007.   Re: Cobi/Best-Lock

(...) It's a little misleading to say their arguments have 'failed' - the same arguments that got shot down in Mega Bloks' Canadian home court are still doing just fine in the courts of northern Europe. I think the big loss in Germany is going to be (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

(...) LOL! "played"??? Nice try on a diversion tactic there, but I do believe in fair play. Which normally includes not calling someone out on something they never claimed in the first place. Here is a novel idea, try disputing the facts. Wink. (...) (18 years ago, 11-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I guess in this particular instance it's worth what somebody would pay for it. Being someone who's sold a single LEGO piece for two grand, I can see both sides of this. Like you, I wouldn't pay $400 for a set I could easily build from my own (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Well, let's talk about that, shall we? An art auction (which I've seen mostly on the telly, and only once or twice in person) usually starts each round of bidding with the 'fair market value' of a painting, and people bid up from there. As I (...) (18 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: WTB: Lids for Blue Tubs

(...) No spares here, I am afraid. However, the beauty of the blue tubs is that you can stack OR nest them WITHOUT lids. As I say -- "go topless" Obviously, the newer styles of LEGO tubs are less than useful this way and I give them away or melt (...) (18 years ago, 6-Jan-07, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: LEGO CD - Unique Lego Parts By Country List

In the next week or so I will be coming up with a list for the LEGO CD folks that contains all the unique LEGO parts by country/region. What this means is that many LEGO items from 1949-80 were not sold in all locations. There were some items that (...) (18 years ago, 30-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)
