Very nice!  There are some nice details on that building [...]

Best,

Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan. The details were tough. I had a few thousand old brown
1x2 bricks (the silver lining in the gray cloud that was the closing of
the LEGO store closest to my house) and 2 quarts of assorted old brown
bricks. So, coming up with any sort of detail that could be repeated was
going to be difficult. I mean really, that amazing pattern that you used
on your firehouse! No way was that happening here (skipping over the
part that even if I had the bricks, I wouldn't have thought of that
anyway :), so I had to do something else.

I simply tried to break things up by using some studs forward stuff and
by stepping out the different floors. The little "wrought iron" fences
were essentially a no-brainer after I had created the steps. I am not
particularly fond of the gray "stone" line marking each floor. It was
just because I didn't have enough brown plates, and I really liked the
look that adding that one 1x1 light gray plate to the sides of each arch
created. Now, that I have some more brown plate I am considering tearing
into the building and replacing the gray plate that marks each floor
with brown; though, I think I'll leave the gray plate that rings the
bottom of the building. I like the way that one separates the building
from the foundation.

Sincerely,
Chris

(...) Very nice! There are some nice details on that building and overall it is a very unique looking structure. I agree on the female figs, they look great. The trolley looks just fabulous as well. Best, Jonathan (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains)
