  please help id set(s)

Hi, I don't know much about trains, so I hope someone can help me. On Mother's Day, *I* got a gift from the parents -- a box of lego they picked up at yard sale for $2. It looks like very old trains (per Pause: perhaps part of set 113?). Let me list (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Circle/Disc terminology

Isn't there any web site that has generally agreed on names for all the lego bricks? (Or even better - one where the names are being decided and we can all argue over them <grin>) Simon (URL)I think I see what happened -- the source of the confusion (...)   Re: Reaction to Ep-1 set

(...) I'm buying Star Wars mainly for pieces. I intend to keep what I need and sell the rest. The classic sets were great for pieces, lots of slopes, plates, tiles, etc. Today I got most of the Ep1 sets and was amazed at the variety of pieces. I'd (...)   Re: Meet "BOB" the Passenger Train

(...) BOB's coloring: The brochure's front cover art looks to have been "artisticly" enhanced, turning selective patches into grayscale images of varying contrast and color depth(?). I thought the same thing at first. BOB's total number of units: (...) (25 years ago, 2-May-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Fallingwater  [DAT]

Here's the model I made of Fran Lloyd Wright's Fallinwater (selectively compressed of course). In real life, I built the model on two baseplates, a 48 x 48 on the bottom, and then a 32x32 with some small baseplates about 6 bricks up. I also built a (...)   May 3, 12:01 madness

I might post a larger report of the TRU down the hill from me tomorrow after I wake up, but here are some quick thoughts.   Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

I combine building with sorting. Most of my pieces are sorted following the colour and type rule, each separate. But with bricks and plates, I "build" them, and then store them. By building, I stack the pieces together, and they fit quite well into (...) (25 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Tweaking the Naboo Swamp set

(...) I've already streamlined the launcher on the fighter, with a couple 1x3 low-slopes and the launcher nestled between. The X-Wing has been more difficult, but I did make retractable gear for it by using 1x2x2 thinwalls and grey 1x2x1 hinge (...) (25 years ago, 5-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Naboo Fighter Comments/Storm Trooper Minifigs?

I picked up the Naboo fighter last night (so far the only Ep. 1 set I have) and I have to say I like it a lot. I like yellow bricks so maybe that's why it appeals to me. I suspect it will eventually turn into some sort of airplane though. Question: (...) (25 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)
