The pattern I am working on has a lot of fine detail that is pretty close to the edge. The large diagonal edge on each side is giving me some trouble... (I did say IIRC!... so I didn't RC this time)... well I left myself an escape clause: "if you know they cut it during manufacturing" which they clearly do... they do not MOLD it to all those different lengths, you can see the cut marks. Since the wheels used have flanges on both sides, they have some trouble going over switchpoints and through crossings cleanly. But they do sort of OK on simple (...) (...) I figure if you can find an instruction that LEGO(r) published that shows a particular thing being cut, or if you know they cut it during manufacturing, it's OK to cut that thing yourself too.
