Re: My first visit to a model train show.

(...) Take a look at the PNLTC and GMLTC layouts. Those may be a bit big for what one person can do, but they'll give you ideas. Then look at the work of Robin Werner for ideas about what one person can achieve. PNLTC: (URL) (I need to index these): (...) (25 years ago, 5-May-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

(...) Ok, I'll jump in here now... ;) The GMLTC is the most un-organized dis-organized informal "club" you'll probably ever find. We don't have any 'charter', or membership oath, or secret handshake, or even an official roster. We don't even have (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: newsgroup name for ldraw.org

(...) Well, at the risk of sounding like I'm repeating myself, I really like the thought of a special group lugnet.trains.org for people to help plan and talk about how to set up more clubs like PNLTC and GMLTC. The .org. node is forward-expandable (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Arg. Good point. (...) Why the .org. then? Why not lugnet.trains.pnltc and lugnet.trains.gmltc ? The name is shorter and easier to remember. They are separated from the lugnet.trains group, yet they're still associated with it. (...) Yes, see (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: 6 wide vehicle

Paul- I think your engines are en fuego! I am a big fan of 6 stud wide stuff because it goes a long way IMO to create realism. I can hear the groans and the sound of pick-axes already as the GMLTC begins road construction to widen the lanes;-) I (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

So, when are we going to see a GMLTC website up. As of yesterday, it was still the NSI "Welcome, come back later" page. :-( -Z- (URL) (25 years ago, 19-May-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

  lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

How do people feel about the creation of a new newsgroup lugnet.trains.org whose purpose is to help national train clubs (such as PNLTC and GMLTC) work with one another, share ideas, and help nurture the creation of more new similar train clubs (...) Hmm...that has the advantage of being able to rapidly find and scan through all of the associated *.org sites, and a nice clean organization, but it has the disadvantage of the groups being separated from their most logical positions in the ng (...) Personally, I kind of like the idea. It makes it easier for us to discuss topics that are a little too specific for this group.
