Announcing the Handy Board Expansion Board

Greetings everyone, It's the last day of 1998, so it's a good time to announce the official release of the Handy Board expansion board. The Handy Board Expansion Board is officially released! The Expansion Board plugs on top of the Handy Board, and (...) (26 years ago, 31-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Smoking serial/charger board...!!!

Hi. This evidence pretty conclusively points to a power-ground short on your board. Here is why: * you are fairly certain it is not the RJ11 cable (the most common cause of blown R11's). * when applying charge pwr directly to the HB's charge jack, (...)   status of the expansion board

Hi all, Many people are asking about the Expansion Board. It has been on the "back burner" because my publisher is demanding text, not technology. But I do plan to release another rev this summer. My ideas about what should go on it have evolved, (...) (28 years ago, 11-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  DLM for the modern age

Hi all, Given Kazuyoshi and other's problems with DLM, if there are any Windows programmers out there who would want to take a stab at a Windows or W'95 implemention, it would be a Good Thing. I'm afraid I'm not qualified to take this on myself. The (...) (29 years ago, 21-Feb-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: HB died - HELP

Keith, You may have shorted something out while connecting up the battery. I've seen this before, and parts do fry if you connect them to 9.6v. If while you had the battery ground lead connected, you just brushed the +v lead onto some pins, that (...) (29 years ago, 4-Feb-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: weird headers

(...) Thanks, I stuck a pot in it's place and fiddled with it until I got 4.49k and it worked great. I came up with the 4.49k by taking 1/x*.0068 = 32.75. Where .0068 is the cap, and 32.75 was my desired frequency. So x was determined to be 4.49 (...) (27 years ago, 23-May-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: HB Downloader Trouble

Success on the first bootstrap download and failure to write into RAM could easily be explained by a fault in the memory circuit.   Re: Re[2]: phone cord length

(...) No, that is wrong; the RS232 is converted to TTL at the serial interface board, so you do have TTL on the phone cord. In any event, I would guess that 50 ft. would not be a problem; we're talking about 9600 baud here which is pretty slow. BTW, (...) (28 years ago, 4-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
