  Re: new Mindstorms servos?

(...) And the problem with not gearing down the motors is that for anyhting requiring more than the motors "native" torque, you have to gear them down with those inefficient plastic gears. (...) That assumes that all possible torque/speed (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: new Mindstorms servos?

(...) I beg to differ. The origninal technic motor was ungeared. It was bad because the first thing it did was try to power unlubed high friction gears. At least with enclosed, lubed close tolerance gears, there's a lot less friction in the gear (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Proposed new meta-command: !STANDALONE_LDR

I'd like to propose the creation of a new meta-command. It is as follows: 0 !STANDALONE_LDR The zero at the beginning of this command MUST be the first byte of the model file. LDraw viewing programs can look for the presence of this command at the (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: 3T Board Change Suggestion

Well, in the very first iteration of the board proposal I actually did have tiles in the bases of each square. But Steve had me take them out because he didn't figure anybody would have that many tiles. I'm willing to defer to everybody else's (...) (19 years ago, 8-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Very old Classic Windows.

Manuel, The windows you are talking about came out around 1955 or 1956 (which is the date of the catalog you have described). The catalog probably also probably has the old LEGO Gnome (small man in red overalls and white shirt) shown in it. This (...) (24 years ago, 23-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
