Re: Are *we* part of TLG's problem?

(...) I don't believe that's true. LEGO targets the yound children with "cool" products that are all fresh and new. Most kids would rather have the newest theme than an old set they saw in a catalog a year ago. And if these kids wanted these sets in (...) (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

So why all the whining about the color changes?

I started a poll with the basic question: "How long before the Lego company beats a shame-faced strategic retreat and returns the old grays and browns permanently to production?" (URL) So far, over half have answered "Never". If you believe that (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

(...) I really, really like the new grey colors. I think in and of themselves, they're great--the gunmetal dark grey could be extremely useful for lots of space things, and the light grey is nicely neutral. However, I really DISLIKE them as (...)   Re: Project: Gundam Completed!

I really like these models. You really seem to get the most out of any of the parts you build with. Who needs curved wedges when you have 2x4 bricks :). The RX-79 has a pretty good form, and i am astonished as to how you managed to make a gundam (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jun-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Numbers and Letters set, anyone get this?

Yes, that would be sets 487 & 987 for the letters, and 488 & 988 for the numbers (the 400 series came in early/mid 60's, the 900 series came late 60's-early 70's). All of these sets were printed on 1x1 white bricks. I've got both of the number sets (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Akro-Mils Storage Unit Order?

(...) IMHO the 11, 23, and 36 are definitely the way to go. I have a few of each although I prefer the 23 over the others. The 3 big drawers on the 11 are good for some things but not a lot, and the 36 drawer unit with all small drawers is not real (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company / Call for your signs! (no discussions here please)

I partially agree with this letter. Daniel Jackson (14), Alaska USA. I would love to have the original colors back, as well as see the new colors in some sets. I want the original colors to be the iprimary/i colors. The new colors are fine for the (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)
