  Re: From Mike Walsh

(...) Yes, this would be what we expect. A potential problem, however, is the current lack of information available from TLC[1]. It would be reasonable to assume that some bulk parts will be perennials[2], while others will have limited stock[3] or (...)   Re: official products: LEGO Checkers and LEGO Dominoes

(...) Just last Thursday, at our local LEGO store, the manager had a copy of each for showoff. They are $19.95 MSRP. These sets are definitely way overpriced. The checkers set is a bunch of 2x2 DUPLO bricks, for at least twice the normal cost of (...) (18 years ago, 14-Aug-06, to lugnet.general)

  Lego in a Smoking Environment

I've read a lot about Lego from "smoke free" environments. Have a lot of AFOL's had problems with "smoky" Lego? In the cd/book I have come to the conclusion that there are 2 types of "smoke" environments (just the legal ones ;-) ). #1 When I was (...) (20 years ago, 29-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

  Dear Australian AFOL's...

Dear AFOL's... We have this land... rather large, but little with population... still have to wait ages in some lines, like in banks and at the post office, not to mention supermarkets and at the beach on 40+ days and and and...   All hail Brasso!

Man, when I think of the amount of time I spent on the ufo quarter circles, with rubbing alcohol and gum erasers, and Brasso would have taken the decal of in 2-3 minutes. I have tried it, and it works great! I would not use Q-Tips, though. I tried (...) (25 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Pictures of the completed GMLTC Plummer Building model

Few questions: The internal support structure: Bearing in mind that I have never built anything of this size: I would have never thought to include this. Was it needed? Why?   Discovery channel-How It's Made-Plastic building blocks

Discovery channel-How It's Made: Today, Feb 21, had an interesting segment on the making of plastic bricks, Mega Blocks. I would assume that it is the same process that Lego uses (too bad they did not use the Lego Company, wonder if they were (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2nd Joe Vig contest entry - How Joe learned to stop worrying and love the bomb

(...) I stopped purchasing Lego before 1978, and I *demand* to be able to submit a Joe Vig contest entry using my blank-faced and armless old minifigs. With a police hat, not the fancy brown male hair from 1979. I also see the need for an (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jun-06, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Availability of new castle?

I had to stick the new Castle set under the scan box at TRU in Milwaukee this weekend and just about had a heart attack. $79.99 for 400 some odd BURPs/CRAPs (whatever the ugly one piece parts are)!. Does TLC think kids can't make the walls out of (...) (25 years ago, 19-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

John, I feel you are in err a bit on the idea of age recommendations for toys. It seems as though I see this happen with everyone. "It says 5-7 on the box.
