  Re: lsynth install trouble

(...) Now I know. It gives the same "can't find" error when I try to synthesize a part. Thanks, Amy (22 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: new user installation summary

(...) I installed POV-Ray 3.1g, and now LPub and megapov run fine. The changes I made to the LGEO files (adding semicolons) to make them compatible with 3.5 work fine with 3.1. And with 3.1 I don't have to remove the version number that L3P puts in (...) (22 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

(...) In Win2K (and later versions, and probably earlier NT versions) you can create multiple user accounts, and users are members of groups (e.g. administrators, users, guests). File permissions is something I'm familiar with in Unix but not (...) (22 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: megapov install trouble

(...) Thanks, Ahui. I think installing 3.1 may solve my MEGAPov and LPub trouble. I'll give that a try. And if all else fails I'll start my entire system from scratch (it exists to do ldraw stuff, so that's not a problem), eliminating the (...) (22 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: new user installation summary

(...) LPub isn't finding POV-Ray. I'm working on the assumption that it's looking specifically for 3.1 and I have 3.5 installed. I'm going to install 3.1 in the coming days. LSynth isn't finding its own install directory. This may have something to (...) (22 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  LPub install trouble

I've installed LPub, and like my unsuccessful megapov installation, it can't find the POV-Ray registry entry... "Cannot find POV-Ray installation entries" "You must install POV-Ray before running LPub" I've installed POV-Ray 3.5 and it works fine. (...) (22 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)
