  Re: Replacement Firmware Released

(...) The free version of Dick Swan's firmware does not include support for 32-bit float variables or long integers. From the Quick Start Guide: "The firmware distributed is the 10 times faster version. It does not include support for floats and (...) (20 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.robotics)

  firmware & NQC - free?

Is there a firmware version available that I can get for free that will work with NQC on any platform (Mac, Win, Linux)? Thanks Jenny (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Replacement Firmware Released

I can say with assurance that the firmware that shipped with my RIS 2.0 does indeed brake fully no matter what the power. I started looking into this precisely because the new firmware behaves differently. If that's a feature and not a bug, fine -- (...) (20 years ago, 24-Dec-04, to lugnet.robotics)

I've submitted a few bug fixes and enhancements to LEGO already which hopefully will make it into the next official firmware release. Enhancements I plan on (...)   Improving the firmware?

After the release of the source code for NXT firmware version 1.04, I was wondering if anyone is considering to open a community project to create an improved firmware. I think an improved firmware which is compatible with version 1.04 opcodes (so (...) (18 years ago, 6-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Hacking the firmware

I'm looking for a firmware hack that would place the battery level in one of the variables so that the standard RCX code ( Spirit ) could access this internally. I'd like to make my robot beep when it runs low on batteries. Eventually I'd like to (...) (26 years ago, 31-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Firmware download troubles

The low buzz tone is an error generated by the ROM firmware for failure condition detected as part of the "unlock firmware" opcode. There are two causes of this. [1] ROM software calculates a checksum value of the downloaded firmware and this (...) (22 years ago, 10-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Firmware w/o CD

You simply need the firmware file, which can then be downloaded directly by nqc : nqc -firmaware <your firmware file> No need for the mindstorm installation then. Though you may need the spirit.ocx to use rcxcc... But that's another story. Phil (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RCX firmware size?

Did anyone know the size of the firmware (firm0309.lgo) once downloaded in the RCX? The file size says 45 kbytes, but the display on the RCX shows 1700. these two numbers do not match, which one is the correct one? and is 1700 expressed in byte? (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)
