  Extreme Mindstorms

Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone would be interested in buying a copy of Dave baums new book: Extreme Mindstorms. I ordered one from chapters, and two months later I got nothing, so I canceled the order, and ordered one from indigo. I had the (...) (24 years ago, 14-Feb-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Can the Run button be reprogrammed?

(...) BrickOS does allow you to configure how the buttons are used. The RUN and Power buttons are read in the BrickOS "firmware", so you'd need to change the kernal, if you want to do other things with them, but it is very possible. So, yes, the run (...)   Can the Run button be reprogrammed?

I was just wondering, can the Run button on the RCX be reprogrammed? I was thinking of a theoretical, fail-safe system, where it would be nice to run a clean-up routine after the run button had been pressed to stop the program. I reckon you'd have (...)   Re: How to send commands directly to the RCX?

You have to open a port to the Lego Tower. Generally it looks like a file. Here's some Python code I'm using that does it, someone can probably translate to Java: irHnd = CreateFile("\\\\.\\legotower1", GENERIC_READ|GENERIC_WRITE, 0, None, (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics)
