Re: Web controlled robot back up and ready!

(...) I can sketch something for you and email it. Before I do that, though, what's the difference between the two sets of controls on each side? The inner ones rotate it on its axis, but I'm not sure what the outer ones do. (21 years ago, 29-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Web controlled robot back up and ready!

(...) <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 !!!! I just collected three blocks with your robot. Remote control like this is for some reason really cool. I remember looking at your SourceForge page about this a while ago -- I’m glad to see it working. One problem I noticed (...) (21 years ago, 28-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: what is the RCX bios?

(...) It's a 16K hard-coded driver. It manages the permanent features of the RCX. From (URL) this page>: High level notes As expected, the ROM contains low-level routines for driving the RCX It controls the on/off/stall signals sent to the motor (...)   Re: Low level programming of the RCX

(...) If you're really hard-core, you could program it in assembly language. I believe the official SDK lists all the operations. Get it (URL) here> if you don't already have it. (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

Re: New Star Wars (from FBTB)

I just want to say that I will be buying the new Millennium Falcon set, the new X-Wing, and the original Falcon, which I still haven't gotten. The reason is that the two new ones are redesigned sets, not re-released sets . . . that's not the same (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)

(...) that thing weighs 1984.16 lbs. Almost one ton of LEGO. :D Actually, there's a 120-kilo aluminium* body to hold it together, but still that means there's 780 kilos (1719.6 lbs) of plastic. *In American, that's "aluminum," and 264.55 lbs of it. Is this for one of your competitions? If it isn't you could post the code for us to see and maybe debug. (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Brick Separator tutorial

(...) Ha! I knew that one! It's especially useful when you have a bunch of tiles grouped together and can't bend whatever's underneath them to pop them off. I like to put tiles between train tracks, for instance, when I'm creating road crossings or (...) (21 years ago, 10-Sep-03, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Stacking Moonbases

(...) If you're going to get so complex as to build a lift, you might as well be making just a single moonbase that's very tall. Something like this one: (URL) After considering this some more, I'm thinking that having a vertical connection standard (...) (21 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Vision Command and Linux

(...) Do you think it would be helpful to have better lighting for the original (raw) image? That might create a better difference between the robot and the background. (21 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: source of <-O-> background

(...) To clarify, I would have traced it as a vector graphic, so it can be scaled to any size needed. The pattern is rather simple and lends itself well to this anyway. Using LDraw might work. What parts use it, specifically? I know that some (...) (21 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Stacking Moonbases

(...) I think a drawing would help people visualize this better. Seriously, though, it would be easier for modules to connect if you have a single passageway running up and down in the middle of a baseplate. With four individual columns, you'd be (...) (...) I can make you one if you want. My scanner's broken, though, so I'll need someone to give me a scan of that logo up close. It's easier to trace the logo from a scan than to draw it freehand. (21 years ago, 4-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I got a private email that said this: Jordan, this idea is a good one. and has proved to work in the past. if you have 2 rcx's, then try it. heck you can even experiment with just one RCX for proof of concept. run a wire from the motor out to (...)
