Why Gary cannot go to Legoland.

I mentioned this in another post this week, but I think that I cannot go to a Legoland until TLC/LD starts selling bulk parts in off colors (light blue, etc). It has been mentioned many times that some folks have gone to a Legoland park and seen all (...) (24 years ago, 27-Apr-01, to lugnet.general)

Hey Marc, I thought that "yeah some folks got to vent a little", but all in all it was a pretty civil discussion. Hey, it could have been a lot worse, but nobody called Lar a "pompous twit", and Lar and Richard were both in agreement ...... whew (...) (24 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO Systems Announces New Chief as President

(...) I don't think the 1989 date (President of Lego Systems) is correct. I was interviewed on the "25 Years of Lego in Canada" segment of CBC 'The Journal' TV news show back in 1986 (even though I'm just over the border in metro Detroit), and (...) (...) Well I'm going to put in my 2 cents worth, and say emphatically that there are lots of parts in colors that I have never seen in any set before, especially things that haven't been around for a long time. I remember seeing a Lego model of the (...) (24 years ago, 11-May-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.legoland)

The reason this set was a "sculpture" instead of a "model team" set is because sculptures are under the "Lego Direct" umbrella, and therefore have some immunity from that dastardly fellow in Billund that controls the colors that can be used for any (...) No this is no joke. If it were, it would be no laughing matter. I don't want to get everyone into an uproar here, but let me put it this way..... if it were up to Lego Direct, they would sell us any part in any color, more than likely. But yes, (...) (24 years ago, 17-May-01, to lugnet.general)

I cannot agree with you more Fredrik! The Thatcher Perkins (#396) is IMHO the most beautiful model set Lego ever made. And I too like the Sopwith Camel, even though I am no model airplane fan. (...) I sort of agree with you Kyle, because I consider classic TOWN to be the era from 1955-1965, when it first came out. But the 1955-57 era is sort of pre-classic, in the sense that the bricks didn't have the binding tubes underneath until 1958. (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.general)
