  Re: Beating a dead horse...

(...) Well said Matt. You were very blunt, but made perfect sense. If people base their entire future as AFOL's on a single catalog, then they don't deserve to be AFOL's. And as far as building goes..... use your imagination!!!! Or go to the (...) (24 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: here comes the next wave of 2001 sets...

(...) Thanks Erik. For the sake of all you folks out there I hope they don't change the scale of LEGO again. Just remember from 1957-73 it was 1 door = 3 bricks high. Then from 1974-77 it was 1 door = 4 bricks high with those minifig stiffs. And (...) (24 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.general)

Re: So did you wonder about me?

(...) Hey Jake, Congratulations! I'm always happy when AFOLs get employed by TLC. Any idea if TLC will reintroduce any of the classic windows (besides the 1x2x2 that they're selling right now in white)? It is very difficult for AFOL's to build a (...) Erik, Yeah I guess most folks wouldn't remember the 50's (I have so few memories myself :-) , but the current window assortment just doesn't give AFOL's enough windows to build with. I don't know what TLC's fixation with doors is all about. They (...) (24 years ago, 8-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.general)

Re: WTB: A Few 2x2x3 Extreme Steep-Slope CORNERS

Gary, You are crazy! The Louvre? My wife and I wore ourselves out walking through a tenth of that thing. The ONLY thing small in there is the Mona Lisa, which was not as big as everyone thinks. I would love to see the Louvre in Lego a la Gary Istok. (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

I too thought the 375 castle was the last set with the 1x1x1 windows, but then I remembered that there was a parts pack (in the lugnet database) #836, which came out in 1982, and had the large modern (4 lights) door, the 70's 1x3x4 door, the modern (...)   Re: What set has black roof peak/gable?

(...) Yes, the only Robo-Raptor sets I've ever purchased were two of the 2152's for these gable "gable connector" pieces that Erik described. The set that had the entire range of black slopes was 730. I was sooooo happy back in the 1980's when I (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

Were these Samsonite sets ever sold???

I always keep an eye out in auctions and other sales for the "Holy Grail" Samsonite sets that I have been talking about ad nauseum... they are the Town Plan #725 and Junior Constructor #717 (no surprise here) produced from 1961-64. But I am not (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: What set has black roof peak/gable?

(...) Erik, I too have wanted some of the non-stud slopes that you described. In addition, I would like to see a (1x1) 1/4 pyramid piece (half of a 1/2 pyramid piece), and a (1x1) piece that is only the sloping portion of the 2x2 inside corner (...) (24 years ago, 10-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: new slope pieces wanted (was: Re: What set has black roof peak/gable?)

I notice that some of the airplane slopes (on the top front) are made of 33 degree on the front, and 45 degree on the 2 sides. Perhaps TLC should create 2 pieces from this 3 sided slope, so that it could have applications elsewhere, such as a roof (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

2001 40 years LEGO in USA

Dear TLC and LEGO Direct, 2001 will be the 40th Anniversary of LEGO in the USA. And 2002 will be the 40th Anniversary of LEGO in Canada. Is TLC planning on any anniversary celebrations? The reason I ask is because back in 1998 TLC celebrated 25 (...) (24 years ago, 14-Nov-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general) !
