Re: Top Ten Toys on A&E

(...) Set, and say Meccano is better, who am I to disagree. And the analogy with LEGO & MEGABLOCKS certainly brings it into perspective. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Top Ten Toys on A&E

(...) I agree, how Ameri-centric of them. I saw the show, and thought for sure that LEGO would be #1. Play-doo beat out LEGO, get real. Lincoln Logs beat out LEGO? Yeah, when was the last time Lincoln Logs could build any thing except a Log Cabin? (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: More scale questions (Was: Scale of Lego)

Oppps, I forgot to mention (for those not on the newsgroup for very long), that this letter is about getting something resembling bulk orders from TLG. Wow, the "COUNT ME IN" emails are pouring in. YES!! Gary Istok (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: 50x50 grey baseplate? From what?

(...) The 50x50 was available from the late 1960's until probably the middle 1970's (not sure about the exact dates). I think that the reason they switched to the 48x48 was due to the fact that 4 of the 48x48 are the same size as 9 of the 32x32 (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

  The Ultimate LEGO Book Review....

I finally bought THE ULTIMATE LEGO BOOK over the weekend. And here's my 2 cents/pfennig/centimes worth.... This is a book by and about TLG. It shows many of the models built by the model shops. It gives a brief (yes brief) history on LEGO, as well (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

  Letter to the LEGO President...

  Re: Wild West ?!

From a purely "parts" perspective, 2000 sets will be nice. The large castle set has at least 16 of the 2x2x3 blue corner extreme slopes..... horrray. The Soccer set has 4 of the gray corner extreme slopes... yes! And someone said orange concave (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Now does that mean we have 2 shades of magenta? Gary (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)
