  Re: "Quotes"

(...) It's good to have a part of the quote there. But it should be just enough to establish accurate context. More than that just gets in the way and makes messages hard to read. This is especially true given that all posts to this list/newsgroup (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: CLSOTW - Thanks

(...) I think everyone here knows this, in much the same way that April 30 does not equal May 1. However, there's no point in complaining about it, because even if it's not "so," no one really seems to care. Besides which, it's not going to matter, (...)   Re: Swearing?

(...) There is already regulation. It's in the form of the Terms of Use that you agreed to when you registered to post here. If you think swearing is ok, please go and re-read them. The one you are looking for is in "DISCUSSION GROUP TERMS AND (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: January 2000 S@H catalog

(...) Hmmm, I just looked at this box at KMART yesterday. In French it says: "Coeur de Leon" which translates to "Lion Hearted", which would make it Richard I the Lion Hearted (1189-1199) King of England and the Angevin lands of France (Brittany, (...)   Re: CLSOTW - Thanks

(...) Nitpick- there IS NO year zero. There are 10 years in a decade, so the last year of the first decade was 10, the first year of the next decade was 11. Taking this to today- there are 1000 years in a millenium, so the last year of the first (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: How many sets?

(...) WOW George, that a lot! but beside that point, what will you do in your basement? Will you be the only one to enjoy this collection? Or will you open your basment to visitors to play well with you? 1300 sqf is almost as much as my home and (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Civil War Theme

(...) I'd (...) Come on guys I know there has to be more people out there interested in the wild west and the Civil war. I just don't believe people when they say that the wild west sets didn't sell. Let's hear from you. David (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.western)

  Re: Introducing LEGO Direct

(...) Since I was the one that brought up the question about whether TLC no war toy policy was possibly based on WWII and the Nazis overrunning Denmark, I wasn't asking for any explanations from the family. First off, KKK was born well after the (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Help The Homeless In Legoville!

(...) How is that going to help me, or the average child builder, build everything I mentioned in my note? I wasn't *just* talking about houses, you know. Please read my whole note: (URL) what kind of roofing do basic brick buckets have? Do they (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: The Gate of the Present Circular Loan? (Not EXACTLY a Jambalaya)

I'm not keen on copies either for the same reason. My POV? I guess I'd want to know significant things about the models. Who are the firms, what were they trying to achieve. Not word for word, mind you, but enough to give a reader some sense of the (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

  Re: LEGO @NASA

  Re: How many sets?

(...) Wow Frank! There appears to be room for little else! Mine is stored in my basement. Luckily I live in a ranch house and I have a 1000 sq. ft. recreation room in the basement. There is LEGO LEGO everywhere.... Gary Istok (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) James, just a small nit to pick to clarify a common misperception... :) I can't be 100% sure what you mean by "'happy as a clam' with Lugnet!'", but in the context of the message above, I take it to mean that you believe you are using Lugnet (...)   Re: Im thinking of creating a KIDLUG

(...) Awesome idea! Still, I think that minors should be allowed to participate in a LUG with their parents or something. There are some other pretty neat people who are under 18 like yourself who could contribute well to a LUG. But then again, some (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.org.us, lugnet.people)

  Houston Area Lego Group:

I'm wondering if any Lego fans in the Houston area (I mean that broadly - perhaps including Bryan/College Station, Victoria, Beaumont, etc., etc.) would be interested in getting together from time to time (perhaps once a month?) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.us.tx.hou)
