Re: "If it were my toy company..."

(...) Hmmm... when I worked at a plastic parts plant in Fowlerville, Michigan, we had some new molds come in for the Dodge Neon Battery Box. The molds where around a 2 foot cube (2'x2'x2'). They cost the company around 500,000 each, and we had two (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: 2000 Star Wars sets are out in US

I don't think that the Destroyer Droid is scheduled to ship until February (so it may show up in January, but probably not December).   Re: Switching from 4,5V to 9V

(...) Well, actually, if you battery or RCX power your 9V motor, you can run it on 4.5V track... If I was converting from 4.5V to 9V, I would just abandon all the 4.5V track, and go all 9V track. (...) Yes, TLG does imbed worn out molds in buildings. No, the molds are not hard to make.   Re: Supply and demand

I think the question is also "what is a set worth?". There are very few people on the planet who would pay even $100 for a used 4558. Just because AFOL's do, are they really worth that? Or is what they go for at local charity shops and garage sales (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.theory)
