Has anyone experience in tuning up 4,5V tracks to allow 9V trains to go on it

No, it is not possible.  You can run 4.5V trains on the 9V track, but not vise
versa.  You also can run 9V motors on the 12v track with modifications, but I
don't have any experence doing this...one of the German fellows has done it.

Well, actually, if you battery or RCX power your 9V motor, you can run
it on 4.5V track...

If I was converting from 4.5V to 9V, I would just abandon all the 4.5V
track, and go all 9V track. The 4.5V motors should run just fine on the
9V track (though they will have less traction).

If you don't care about turnouts, of course you can mix all three
systems without any part modification since you can just lay the 12V
conducting rails down the middle of the 9V track.

(...) I have built 2. Take a piece of straight 9v track, and cut it in 1/2. Take 2 rails from the 4.5V track, and cut them in 2. (I use a dremel (the metal on the 9v track) and a minature Hacksaw (the plastic) to do my cutting). Take 1 sleeper, a (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)
