Re: My MOC A-Wing and E-Web

(...) myself at the moment, and it's a good deal bulkier than yours... What is the origin of those pieces that look like skis? -- John J. Ladasky Jr., Ph.D. Department of Structural Biology Stanford University Medical Center Stanford, CA 94305 (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

WTT blue falcon shields for yellow ones.

While doing an inventory I realized I am short three yellow Black Falcon shields but have a surplus of three blue ones. Does anybody want to trade me three MINT, completely unfaded and undamaged yellow shields for three blue ones of equal quality? (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) I'm not against hosting imitation brand parts or libraries on ldraw.org, since LDraw's file format doesn't have any sort of LEGO-brand requirement. I'd *personally* be somewhat bothered to see non-LEGO stuff there, but I also think that it (...)   Re: Best way to make parts images?

I would use l3p and povray, but since l3p only runs on wintel, you have to do that part on a wintel box. Here's how I would do it: 1. Make a batch file to create a dat file for each part. 2. make a batch file to run l3p on each of those dat files 3. (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.brictionary, lugnet.cad)

Lego (DK) Animals and Figures Books (semi-review)

I purchased the Lego Animals and Lego Figures books tonight at the Media Play in Ogden. Both books cost less than $10 total with tax. Both books look great but are certainly geared to a younger crowd. My first impression of the two books is that the (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ut)

  Re: Transporting large setups.

PNLTC, I think, tears down and builds anew for each show (but they're on tables, except for a module or two) GMLTC has a custom trailer that takes custom racks mounted on large casters. The modules ride on custom lipped tables with folding legs and (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

Best way to make parts images?

What's the "best"[1] automated or semi-automated way to render a large number of parts images into GIFs? (It's OK if there are multiple steps or if a final pass has to convert the results from PNG or BMP to GIF.) What I would like to do for the (...) First of all, hello and thank goodness I found this place!!! I never thought there was this many people out there who are in to Lego. With that out of the way, let me ask a question. We got a phone call that my 6-year-old son won the 18" Lego Ronald McDonald at our local Plainwell (Michigan) restaurant today! This one is not glued!   Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) As of this point, I don't think ldraw.org should *host* clone parts packs, but it wouldn't do any harm to link to them off-site. IMASO the site should continue to promote Lego brand parts and editors which use the LDraw format, and not push (...)
