The 6-tracklength width of the tables is indeed a fundamental issue as it essentially determines the number of parallel lines without adding extra tables. I have a small accumulation of mainly regular bricks with scratches/bite marks etc that I too would not use, but kept on the basis that there must be something better to do with them than bury in them a landfill. If other people are like me, they have a box of "not good enough to use but too good to throw away" lego sitting in a corner. Mine was going to my daughter's school but they'll never miss it.
