  An evening with Larry Pieniazek.

Larry Pieniazek was in the Detroit metro area yesterday, and stopped by for the evening. After reading all of his posts, as well as the flamage going his way, I didn't know what to expect. Well, he was quite unlike that tough exterior that he shows (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Holobrick vs Real McCoy (was Re: star destroyer?

lol Sproat, consider this: Would it be less satisfying to play with Lego in the Holodeck than in real life? Is there something to actually possessing the material brick? An interesting question which for me actually has its roots in ldraw. I don't (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

  6575?

Hello, I've been away from this group for a few months now and all my software is most certainly outdated (LDraw and stuff), although I have all of it working in perfect order. I only need to draw I quick LDraw pic of a robotics mechanism (for the (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Climbing robot?

(...) I'm not sure if the Lego system can exert enough pressure on a tread structure to allow this to work, since it would need to be in the sweet spot between to little to grip and too much to roll. Still, it is something to experiment with. And it (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Lego man

Adam, Hey, I understand that all too well. I was 17 at the time, my last year of high school, and I went to Meijer: (URL) plug in for my second job! :) ) and bought the 6399, Airport Shuttle. I worked 40 hours, (A no-no to child labor laws, but we (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: star destroyer?

(...) Ah yes, that's right. That would allow for enough room to fit my minifig scale super star destroyer! Dave (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  State Fair

Did anyone else see the Duplo model at the State Fair? It's a giraffe, about 5 feet tall... (Okay, if you want to know where it is, it's between the Horticulture building and the International Bazaar.) :-) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: star destroyer?

(...) Well, if *I* were Emperor, I'd need that space just to fit my Lego collection. Well, it wouldn't all be for Lego, but I would need a logistics base for the Lego-bearers, modelling slave droids, collection administrators, piece acquisition (...)   Re: T-16 Skyhopper

FA (Bricks): 81 Yellow Technic pieces

Trying out an auction on Mike Stanley's BRICKS site and it's going verrrry slowly: only 1 day 13 hrs to go and the bidding sits at 5.99 - that's very cheap for 81 Technic parts! Check out the lot at: (URL) have several thousand more Technic pieces (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Micro Motor and RCX

Greetings. I recently ( Friday to be exact ), acquired my first Micro Motor from Lego Shop at Home. I know that this is a 9 volt motor, and I think that I should be able to use it with the RCX. I would rather be cautious, rather than burn out my (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: star destroyer?

(...) I'd have to agree... the SMALLEST microfig tie figher I can imagine (1x2 tile, 1x1 round plate, 1x2 plate w/ centered stud) is about 9.6mm wide. TIE fighters are (roughly) 6 meters wide. The Executer (the super star destroyer) is about 8,000 (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New to this site.

Jodi- Let me also welcome you to LUGNET! As Mike said, there is much trading/selling/buying going on here, and that's just the half of it. We also share ideas, designs, problems, etc, and have a *lot* of fun in the process. Try subscribing to (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Road baseplates

I've got about 8 different of the early grey roadplates that have islands and other "forks in the road". These are of the type without bikepaths/sidewalks. They came in 1980's racer, fire stations, police stations, public works sets, etc. When you (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Lego Expo at the Toy Connection (Crystal Lake, IL)

The Lego expo at the Toy Connection Saturday was a great success! I went with Brandon Grifford (Zacktron co-creator) and took about an hour, hour and a half trip to get there [1].   Re: Robot related books...?

(...) Hmm. It is has pretty variable accessability- I'd say anyone with a programming background will be able to read nearly all of it. However, it can at times be dry and difficult to follow, which makes it not so great reading for people without a (...) (25 years ago, 30-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
