  Re: peeron inventory update

(...) I think they had the grooves but I couldn't swear to it and I can't check. I realised I was a little unclear in my first post, the set also included an extra 1x2 plate that could be used to replace the 1x1 plates somehow (I think). I am going (...) (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.inv)

(...) Tin: Did your set come with the sleeper rails with or without the grooves. Mine was with grooves. It does fall in the years that both were available. John P (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.inv)

Re: Boosting power in a gear train / torque amplifier

Alexander, Thanks for the differential/pole-reverser idea. Based on your description, I was able to get a prototype running very rapidly! I'm still seeking a clean more mechanical version, but this certainly will work for now. Along the lines of a (...) (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 10183 postponed?

(...) Well, it seems I may have spoken too soon. By going through and updating all of my drivers (I suspect the graphics card driver was the critical one) I've been able to get it to run on my Windows 2000 Pro machine. It freezes occasionally when (...) (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

(...) It is interesting how many mistakes are not made by Lego. When ever I am short a piece I am totally surprised. For those who do not know, Lego will send replace pieces free, even when you lose them. I steped on a blue airtank, called Lego (...) (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.inv)

  Re: peeron inventory update

(...) My copy of 7710 was missing two 1x1 plates (3024) that were featured in the instructions. I still remember it almost 20 years on since it was the first time I'd encountered a mistake in the instructions/inventory of a set. Tim (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.inv)

Thursday updates 7710 Push Train: 3024 should be 8 not 6 (engine st8,10...ramp step 4 and 6) 163 Cargo train is correct 162-1: Locomotive without Motor: is correct. This was a hard one as there are three different models that can be built, however (...) (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.inv)

Lego Stories Videos Uploaded to YouTube

Sometime in the late '80s, an Eastern European branch of TLC made a stop-motion animation video. The video had seven cute stories all animated with Miniland-scale figures and scenes. I've uploaded clips from this video to YouTube: (URL) Main (...) (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: MOC: Sea Monkey Sleds and Figs

(...) Well if you won't do it, then I guess I'll have to... Felix, if you don't start building and posting Sea Monkeys again soon, I will have to beat you up, tar and feather you, then post your photo on creepy singles websites! Aaron (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.aquazone, FTX)

David, Check out Bresenham's Algorithm for line drawing: (URL) It's been around forever and does not require complex math - which was not available on older computers anyways. Sometimes the old guys knew how to do stuff right. Ralph (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) You mean like this? (URL) have that packaged up in a MyBlock, and other than rounding errors it works nice and fairly quickly. (...) Not exactly; it really depends on the precision you want/need. (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Come promesso - [was: LDD 2.0 is out!]

(18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

(...) The points on the line take the form y = mx + b, where b is the intercept with the y-axis and m is the slope. For the problem as you describe it, b is 0 since the line crosses the y-axis at zero, and m = 1.5 or 15/10 since the slope is the (...) (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
