I wrote a utility, for my own use, about two years ago that takes a .dat file and attempts to find "best" way to buy the parts via BrickLink. I'd planned to produce custom sets and source the parts for them this way. It was working well when last I (...) (...) Looks great! I'm not a big fan of the poster-edge ones though...too obviously a Photoshop filter. I've found the magnetic lasso tool to be helpful in cutting out a MOC from the background. As I might have noticed, the Lego technic holes are exactly 4.8mm. This technique is also good to create "technic bricks" - very usable when you need a more stabilized axle-guide. Hey guys- I was just browsing Brickshelf ((URL) when I noticed how they set up the crane. 1) Yes it has steering (though which knob you turn i DON'T KNOW) 2) The extending mechanism for the boom, it's done by a chain (I didn't know this.
