john ~
i have to stand up and be counted as a proponent of customizing. ;-)
check out my site, especially the "tips & techniques" page (which has a
recounting of my first dragon painting "incident")
http://community.webtv.net/craigo-lego/craigolegoindex
as for the green mini-fig head, i have goblin-boy. (craigo-lego page) i
painted just the face of an old yellow head that was a bit too worn. the
cowl piece covers the rest of the head, and i drew the new face on. there's
system green, pale mint green (from belville), and a medium green found in
belville and the speeder bikes set. my favorite enamel paint pens match the
medium green perfectly.
imho, customizing is just another arena of creativity within the world of
lego. twisted to some, titilating to others, customizing is (informaly
around lugnet) refered to as "the darkside".
