Where are you guys? Is there some secret CW meeting that they're hiding from
the rest of us? What gives? Lugnet.castle posts are way down, what's goin' on?
Have you all been abducted by Lego aliens?

Don't worry Bill, me and my dead fish are still here, we just decimated the
Jeffa_AND_all the Erics. You should have been there. Can't speak for Shiri,
Pawel or Craig, though. But don't worry, the rest will be back after they
finish licking their wounds. HA!

Ah, don't you get too brave, there might be yet another handful of Erics
around
this lot. So far I've been biding my time, really waiting for a neat
opportunity
to acquire that digital camera I've been longing for. I feel I can't really
come
here discussing details of medieval architecture w/o some images around.
Was it Frank Zappa saying:

As soon as I get that camera I'll be... umm, climbing (?)... about
architecture
with whomever interested in reading.

"talking about music is like dancing about archticture!"
it's one of my favorite quotes! it's been attributed to everybody from
philonious monk to laurie anderson, (and yes mr. zappa): but it was
originally uttered by none other than the amazing steve martin. ;-)
so... talkin' bout lego _is_ like dancing about architecture! looking
forward to those pics, (yet another) eric! till then, let's do the baroque

You sure about that? It sure sounds weird enough to be mr Martin.

yeti 'nother eric ~
yeah! sorry it took me so long to get back to responding. i was overjoyed
recently to found this out while listening to susan stanberg interview
laurie anderson on NPR. laurie 'fessed up that she has said it many times,
but assured that it was originally steve martin who coined the phrase. i
was pleased to find this out, but kind of shocked. i'd always thought it
would have been monk for sure.
who knows? they could all be in on some weird musical comedic plot to
confuse the intellectuals of the world. but then again, i've never known
ms. anderson to tell an untruth. "the sun _is_ coming up like a big bald
head!" (i saw her live back in '87 ~ amazing!)

Well, if you think something is off-topic you can direct it somewhere else.
You can do this by cross-posting to the group you want (simply add the group's
name to the 'newsgroups' area if you're using web interface) and then write
the group's name again in 'Followup-to' area. Any replies to your post will be
directed to the new group.
That's what I did here, with lugnet.admin.general as the newsgroup. Note,
there are quite a few groups for off-topic discussions, and you can have your
discussion there!

Well ... for right now things are pretty stagnant in my Lego life. School
and work are among the two things that I am most concerned with at the
moment and I don't want to burn out.
As soon as the green slopes come from Eric and I possibly acquire some red
bricks in bulk, I'm going to do a few neat things. A few Legoredos arrived
from France (Thanks DYA;), so I will be putting those to good use (The City
inside the Forest).
Verneer, Ewan, and a secret guest are on their way to Jason Catena where he
will take care of them and take some neat pictures. A cross-ballad in
the making, and also the 9th chapter of The Verneer Chronicles.
The website right now is not being touched (other than little updates)
because of the changes being implemented.
I've also been spending time analyzing Dave Eaton's and Eric Kingsley's
creations - especially the walls and gates. I am going to be doing some
serious thinking on how I can implement the wall pieces into a mostly brick
wall. For this I need to red pieces. If it works out the way I am
imagining it, this will be a very impressive looking wall (possibly structure).

I may not be a "usual suspect" but I am a definite lurker = )
I have spent much of my usual Lugnet browsing time workig on my Ninja
fortress and amassing an army of over 300 Samurai, Ninja, and Ronin. I have
taken inspiration from many of the recent pictures and storylines; now I am
working on a story for Castleworld. I am attemtping to get some pictures
ready also...
As with many other members of Lugnet, my building and thread participation
time has been cut short due to sorting recent acquisitions (over 50 lbs from
all themes). I ran out of many basic bricks and plates working on my
projects forcing me to buy in bulk....that TRU 12 piece bucket sale came
along at the right time too....
I would love to do a Asian-style village now.....but I am running out of
space inside the walls of my fortress (as well as my apartment).
I eagerly look forward to the next round of CW updates

Looks to his left... Looks to his right... Your right! Were did everyone go!
:-).
Anyway I have been mostly lurking. Most of my free time has been spent
building lately. Nothing has been officially posted yet but if you want a
sneak peak you can look at these pic's.
http://www.nelug.org/members/kingsley/temp/
The main new thing is the wall and gate. I have added pictures every day this
week except yesterday. The corner wall section was reworked yesterday so it is
slightly different now. I also did a little rework on the roof line of my Inn
yesterday (no pic's yet). Basically if you look at this pic you can see 2
windows on the second floor that are higher than the rest. Well I put them in
line with the other windows, pushed back the roof above those windows and had
is slope in with the rest of the roof on that side of the Inn. It looks much
cleaner now.
http://www.nelug.org/members/kingsley/temp/PIC00009.JPG
I will probably get a few more sneak pic's up tonight in this directory and I
might update my Inn page with new pic's. I won't be adding a page for my Gate
and wall until next week probably because there are still a few changes I have
planned. One obvious change will be to take the dkGray around the windows at
the top of the gate and replace it with Gray (need more arches) and I might
push the windows away from each other and to the side a bit but I am not sure
on that yet.
Anyway I am here and at work trying to build my city allthough that's about all
the wall you will probably see for a while because I have run very low on some
key parts for the wall.

fall from on high, squashingeth our fellow townsfolk. He doth stompeth around
like he owns the place, yea, and even bats around those whose feet are not

And it was done. A great and precariously dangling Tower was built above the

Great Furry menace as it passed below.
And Kitty was not pleased.
