What are these? What is going on? It looks like the horse is skeletal. I think

The female minifig is pretty easy to figure out, but looking at the horse, I can
see not only the skeletal horse, but a trans-light blue scimitar, a clear
chain (it’s attached to the front left hip of the horse and draped over the
minifig’s left hip), a clear
UFO/Insectiods armor, and the lower left ribcage and left foot of a skeleton
minifig, along with a standard minifig head.

I hope they sell them period. BTW, transparent plastic is usually more
expensive than opaque plastic (especially since you have to be more careful
about contamination issues), so it’d probably be cheaper if it was sold in
white.

I'm not into .castle, but those are really, really neat,
and trans minifigs are just, well, wow. That is the best
horse ever. Now, when a thread gets out of hand, we can
insert a .jpg of a minifig clubbing it. ;)

I’m not exactly sure either, but if this is true (and the parts are to be
slated for release in other colours besides clear), it looks like
promising times are ahead for castle!
I’m just wondering what sort of theme these were party to? Maybe
they were some sort of primitive castle series, or a cross-over
with the adventurers? (next wave of orient expedition sets?)

It couldn't be any of those "Shifty Bricks" (Interesting choice for a
name...). It's much cheaper (and easier) to make a mold off an already
released part than to make it entirely from scratch. It was also mentioned
in a different post that transparent plastic is more expensive.

Since the Lego sets are tied to the movies, and I can't think of a transparent
horse that appeared in the second film, I doubt that's the case. I'm extremely
curious about these though. They're quite neat looking.

In the 3rd book Harry has to fight some baddies by going back in time (like an
hour) using a watch Hermonie has, in the end of the story, he is saved from the
Dementors by a ghost horse. Later he finds out it was the ghost of his dad.
BUT this could very well be a ghost horse from the 3rd movie, that would be
cool!
Perhaps the clear female is his mother, who appears in ghost form in various
parts of more than 1 book. (in the mirror in the first book, for example) In
the 4th book we learn lots more about mom and dad potter.

The petronis (sp?) that saved Harry from the dementors was actually a stag, not
horse, and nobody was riding it. The only reference to ghost horses that I am
aware of is in the first book, there were riders off to the headless hunt that
nearly headless Nick was not invited to.

I was talking to a LEGO employee at a LUGOLA meeting in April, and he said that
these are just unreleased official pieces (available to employees).
He brought
a few of the horse skeletons, some trans mini-figs, trans rock monsters, other
available animals in unavailable colors, and a few mini-fig accessories and
weapons (the ones that stick out most are variation swords/daggers and a
metallic gold staff with a dragon on top that was supposed to be released with
the Dragon Masters theme back in ‘93).
Very neat selection of rare/unattainable
pieces; I’ll try and get pictures next time.

I’d go more on the side of never to be released. Although I’m assuming that
could change...
I think TLC wouldn’t be too keen on them being obtained by
non-employees.

I heard somewhere that those pieces were stuff that Lego rejected and did not
make it to final production. Basically "prototype" pieces and parts. In other
