Doug, CURRENT RCX are 8 studs wide. But if they make one specifically for trains, they don't have to worry about batteries, and can make it much smaller (think Scout size, or even multiple modules). (...) Not to be picky, but there have been 3 voltages: 4.5v, 9v, and 12v. I've never seen any 12v and played with 4.5v once, a long time ago, so I can't comment on the gauge of the different tracks. Ben Roller (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Oh oh oh...another problem with 8 wide (main reason I am avoiding it): anyone recall how many engines John uses for his 8 wide stuff? Eight wide is going to weight a lot (unless there is exstensive use of thinwalls). Eight wide trains are going to (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

All, The GFLTC was going to organize a LEGOFest at the H & R spring show(1), but it’s not going to happen. I met with the owners of H & R Trains for more than an hour. Hi all! I also saw the new train system during our show in Frechen/Germany last weekend. I'd like to add some more information. - The motor has the same size then the normal 9V train motor. The only difference is the hole for the technic axle. - The (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I think there is a difference between TLG carrying on making and supplying parts for 9v trains and going to the trouble to design and release sets. I got this form him yesterday morning: "Scott, my mum has told not to sell the trains, and they are packed away ready for the move." Now I'm told, by ME, 2 of the sets I (...)
