The inevitable leap into 10-Wide Trains...

Having been building at to a scale of 1 stud (1 brick width) = 1 foot for (approx 1:35 scale) the better part of the last 2 decades, I decided it was past time to upgrade my trains to the same scale. With several years experience building 8-wides (...) (18 years ago, 19-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX) !

Re: The inevitable leap into 10-Wide Trains...

(...) Hey, Dano! Long time. Ah, 10 wide. Reminds me of the very first loco I started to build with GMLTC bricks (never completed). It was a 10 wide BN as well. Well, yours looks terrific-- just keep those smallish wheels shielded. Now, another (...) (18 years ago, 19-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  A few train MOCs

Yay! I still remember how to build. I just used LDD to design some small train sets... Not sure if this link will work. You may need to copy and paste the string. Hi, Got the winter catalogue and some other promo stuff on LEGOworld and suddenly I noticed something strange on the pictures of the red boxcar.   Re: Train station on Brickshelf

Hi Jonathan (...) Thanks. Those catenary masts use home-made "rigging" pieces created from button thread (the green ones) or blind cord (the black ones) and 1x1 round plates. It was rather tricky to set up, but I've always been bothered by (...) (18 years ago, 20-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Hello! This is a ... erm... a traincar, probably well done. At least it looks credible and authentic. (Sorry, I have no clue, neither of trains nor of CAD.). Anyway, the little sub-structure with the red and white 1×1 slopes is interesting for me. (...) (18 years ago, 19-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains)

Hi all, I decided to try a little experiment recently with train building (based on a few earlier similar projects as of yet unseen here) and try to build a freight car using a (near) completely studless technic approach.   Re: newbie question

I do not think LEGO will be switching rail style or the voltage (the gauge is the same). While the switch in voltage is confusing, the switch in rail style makes alot of sense. I have a 12V train and a couple of 9V trains. The 12V trains are (...) (26 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  4512 is great to modify

I got a 4512 Cargo Train yesterday. It's my second train set, and I really like it. It derails on tight curves, though, but then you wouldn't expect a cargo train to be flying down the track anyway.
