| | Re: Another Legend dies....
| I think Ben is right. first of all, lego should stop juniorizing their new sets, let alone their vastly popular train sets. i think the 9v train sets were great, up until the 4560-or the US version the 4561. the 4559 looked ok, but with alittle (...) | | Size matters
| No this is not about 6 or 8 wides but I need some expert-advice here: 6 wheel bogies; does that work on 9V tracks? what is the maximum length of a 4 wheel car? Most LEGO 4 wheelers are 16 studs long, is that the max? What is the (realistic) maximum (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) I find better performance if I add weight, even to 9V motors. Or at least design my models so that there is more of the weight over the powered truck than the unpowered one... (23 years ago, 1-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Lubricating axels, etc.
| (...) Steve, LEGO® train wheels are not designed to be lubricated. The oil will destroy the rubber traction tires on the 9V motors resulting in total loss of traction (not to mention dirt buildup on all wheels concerned). Just my 10 cents (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

| | Wanted: 9V straight Tracks
| Hi, I need a few 9V straight tracks for my layout. They can be used, just as long as they work. Please send me an email with a price per track piece. Please, no outrageous prices! I would like to buy from anyone in the USA or Canada only, due to (...) (23 years ago, 16-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) Yes, but the wheels look of course totally different. (...) Yes, can be done that way, but you need one extra 7865 motor for that. (...) My method is not 100% satisfieing, but I have done conversions for a 9V motor to run it on 12V track. (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

| | 9v vs 12v motors
| Is the 12v train motor physically the same size and shape as the 9v motor? I'm hoping that converting a 9v engine to a 12v is simply a matter of substitution. I have a 12v layout and want to add a Metroliner (among others) to it. (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

| Best thing to do would be to buy a Train set. Either 4561 (Not as good but you get a motor, wheels & couplers.)
