  Re: Lubricating axels, etc.

(...) [snip] (...) One last hint: if the wheels sets are quite old and have been used for most of the time under heavy duty, then they might have evidently wear in their bearings. The 9V wheel blocks are using "tip bearings" (sorry I have not found (...) (23 years ago, 31-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

BBB wheels "x-4-x" steam configuration BKM

HI All, Since that last post generated some traffic perhaps this will too! :) I am building a “4-8-4” (no prototype in mind) steam engine. (...) I'm not a fan of the checkrail either, but if we're going to be forced to have it, I'm hoping LEGO will be smart about it.   9v vs 12v

I am just getting back into Lego after a very very long hiatus.   Re: Train compatibility?

(...) LEGO trains have a high degree of compatibility. The only real source of incompatibility is the electrical items. This means for example that 9V and 12V track and motors are incompatible, and neither will run on 4.5V track (though 4.5V and (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)
