That's Engineer Max!  Haven't you been to http://www.lego.com/trains in the
last year?

I presume him at the controls of a train is the new symbol for Lego trains
(at least at the time these boxes were drawn up), since the same motif
appears on all the boxes.  All, that is, except for 4512, where he actually
appears to be included as the driver!

Conductor Charlie puts in an appearance too in 4513, the station.  On the
box edge he's the one chasing after that skateboarding brat.  Serves him
right for violating station regulations - not to mention the physical laws
of Sir Isaac Newton - by rolling uphill on a skateboard in the main
picture...  ;-)

(...) Uhm, maybe just once or twice... <grin> (or about 50 times!!) (...) I *really* like the Max figure. The overalls he's wearing are such a great simple little torso design, and the dark grey 'glove' hands are a perfect touch. I had to open a (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)
