     Rick- You are referring to one of Brian Williams' masterpieces: (URL) the risk of speaking for Brian, I can say simply that what he has done is wire the 9 volt motor to power the older 12 volt motor.      Rick/John, Hi... I'm just about recovered from the trip. The locomotive that Rick asked about is powered by an old 12v mechanism with siderods.    (...) Those are 2x2 5h girders. They were available in black in 6444 Outback Airstrip, (URL) in red in 1682 Space Shuttle (URL) think 1682 has 8 of them. Conan has a shoebox sized bin about 1/2 full of the red ones. He parted out a LOT of 1682s. (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

   When I worked in the factory (12 years ago) we had no contact with the brick molding people. We knew where they were, and every once and a while one of them would come out with a dumpster of deformed bricks. It looks like maybe a Chistmas Eve raid (...)
