  Max. Track Slope

I'm working on a new layout and want to have a track line that goes 'underneath' my table like a subway. Has anyone done something like this before? I'm interested to know what the max. slope is that I can have on the up-ramp before the train (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 8 wide Super Chief (Kjeld was right!)

(...) Nice job, John. This may be the first honest comparison between 6-wide and 8-wide models. Since there has been a debate on how many more bricks it takes to go to 8-wide, could you give an estimate as to how many pieces it took to build this (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: PNLTC pictures of GATS 2002 in Portland are up

(...) Nicely done. I almost thought that the other train clubs had started to catch up with the quality of your shows, and now you've raised the bar to a totally new level. I really liked all of your new crowd pleasers. Thanks, Andreas (URL) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sante Fe Wish List

(...) Perhaps. Most roads that used letters actually went with ABCD as you suggest. But strangely enough, ATSF (and i just found this out myself) went LABC (L for "lead" presumably). The letter actually appears in the number board so the number we (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Light cable?

I want to get just a light cable for a train. I don't need the light brick, since I can swipe it from a Railway Express train. I tried a variety of search terms on BrickLink, but couldn't find anything. Are they even listed? Or should I just go (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

The first "real" train engine from Lego

I'll be the first to admit my Lego Train experience and exposure isn't big, but I don't think I could have picked a better time to get involved, with the release of the Super Chief. I've looked a few of the older Lego sets, and the current ones, but (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

8 wide Super Chief (Kjeld was right!)

This project came as a result of a story told by Brad Justus at BricksWest 2002. I'll explain. A while back, Brad was in Billund, and he was showing off to Kjeld the pre-production 10020. As Kjeld was "Oohing" and "Ahhing" over the model, he said to (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains) !

  Re: Santa Fe distribution pattern

(...) I can't resist this one...if you already have one Santa Fe loc and buy one expansion pack, the chances of getting a match are 1:10,000 (or, 1:9995 to account for the 5 taken out by BJ), not 1/100,000,000=(1/10,000)^2. The chances of getting (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)
