good, but it's possible.  You use a 2x1 plate with centre stud.  That sets
you 1/2 a stud, or 5/10, back from the normal row of studs.  Then you fit a
technic twin-hole brick on that with a plate pushed into the side, which is
2/5 (or 4/10) of a stud out.  So, 5/10 - 4/10 = 1/10.  Then, use short pins
in the side of another technic twin-hole brick, or a 2x1 hinge brick, to
attach  your wall to the plate.  This might be hard to fit in 6-wide though.

Right, take a look at these pictures.  I've set up a row of 1x2 bricks, each
set 1/10 of a stud further back than the last:

Anything from 1/10 to half a stud of recess could be concealed inside a
6-wide wagon.

(...) Thanks for the pics. The one thing I am still not fully understanding with all these methods is whether or not there is actually any means of fixed attachment of the bricks on the outside wall. Those 1x2 bricks that are set 1/10th apart, in (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)
