  Re: Three New Train Cars

(...) No, I don't believe I did make that implication. If you drew that inference where it wasn't implied, I'd say that was sloppy, imprecise, non critical thinking on your part. (...) Well, you're certainly the expert from long practice on sloppy (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: New S@H Catalog

(...) <butts in> No way! Even though I don't own *any* train sets, look out for the Raw Material Shifter in the 13-17 category. I don't really think I need those unimportant pieces like wheels or track.. I've found a way around them. (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

(...) BUT, when admonishing me for "the next time" I gratuitously mention 8 wide, you *imply* that it was thusly *this* time as well. Sloppy, imprecise language is the bane of clear communication... oh well >;^D Program note: Lar and I are just (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New S@H Catalog

(...) You miss the point. 1. It's an honor which is worth more than money can buy. 2. Maybe it's 100 bucks *at their price* for bricks.... (goes a looong way) 2. Here's a chance to design a set that has *great parts* in it-- think of it as an (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: WORLD RECORDS at Braunschweig Train Event 2000!

(...) Yes, we all had lots of fun, but now - after not more than 60 hours we had for bringing the stuff to the airport, building, playing, photo-shooting, talking, eating and cleaning up again - it is all over again. Some of our guest are still (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New S@H Catalog

(...) I find this phrase pretty funny. You surrender all rights to your design, yet you are still responsible for it for any damages that may be incurred. I wonder if that flies in court? I assume it's to cover instances where someone submits a (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Train shelf

From IKEA (only in Europe) a shelf 79cm x 9.5 cm just the right size for train track - 6 pieces. The shelf can be joined to go right round the room. The IKEA name is "STRIPA". David (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: WORLD RECORDS at Braunschweig Train Event 2000!

(...) Looks like this event really rocked. I'm guessing that this fest was held at the airport terminal building? I spotted the blue VW badged loco which I assume was a Torsten special. Did I also spot my weirded out adventurer's loco? Very (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New S@H Catalog

(...) Whew. Well for a sec there I thought I wouldn't be able to enter my "poke your eye out with a sharp stick flatcar load"... (...) Based on what we've seen in the mania magazines, I suspect the answer would be "potentially quite a bit". ++Lar (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: New S@H Catalog

Well seing i am the only 12 year old who actually builds trains for shows, i think i would have a good chance for the 7-12 age group. I highly doubt there are any 12 year olds out there that are as good as people here including me ! (...) Maybe we (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New S@H Catalog

(...) Yeah, I would be nice if one did not have to give up the copyright for one's design. Additionally, I am guessing that this phrase is fairly standard, but the fine print says, "Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or (...)   Re: Three New Train Cars

(...) Thanks, I am reworking the front of the truck and the railings on the truck. The old design had some clearance issues. I'll try to get a picture of the new railings up this weekend, even though the rework isn't done. Chris (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

  New S@H Catalog

I received the January Shop at Home catalog today. All of the new LoM sets are shown as are the Mosaic and the new Dragon figure. Probably the biggest news is the Train building contest. Three age groups: 7-12, 13-17, 18+ The winners will have their (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Help with a classic train for Christmas tree

(...) Hey, Chris, I'm a non-train person, but I have to agree with Mike and Larry. If you look around for the next few weeks (especially at places like Target or maybe online toy stores) you should be able to find a cheap 4561 for the track, (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)
