  Re: 3 x 6 train nosepiece

(...) <snip> Yes John, that's it. Are there any other sets? Thanx Mark (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 3 x 6 train nosepiece

(...) No such thing as a "dumb question"!! Are you talking about the piece in the small vehicle in #6473 "Res-Q Cruiser"? JohnG, GMLTC (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  3 x 6 train nosepiece

Hey everybody, I've checked the database's and can not find which set or sets the black 3 x 6 train nosepiece can be found in. Anybody know(1), that's willing to enlighten me? Thanx Mark (1) Dumb question since there must be several trainheads that (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

I will modify the doc to state it as a "random pattern" but I noticed a difference between the "splotchy" type and the "fissure" type. I built mine with the fissure type pattern, although sometimes it can look like black lightning. (Would that be (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

(...) Except the 'pattern' is supposed to be fairly random - everyone does it differently. We decided to add the black just to break up the huge expanse of red that we'd otherwise have. So far, no one at any show has noticed the difference between (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Ooh.... Nice exploded view to show us all the details. Thanks, Chris (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

(...) Well, any module that has electrical connections to the track will run them back to the controller area in the module. From there, a controller could be removed and the wire just run to the other controller where multiple layouts are (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

(...) Given the amount of feedback we've gotten from the rest of the groups (not too much, nothing very serious) I'd say Mike ought to go ahead. He did a lot of good work in elaborating my somewhat sketchy meeting notes into a much more thorough (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

Not seeing anything yet, this might have already been covered. But, have you guys addressed electrical inter-operablity between modules? With 10' lego wires avalible from pitsco-dacta, even a parralell bus (to cut down on the electrical resistance (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

Wayne, The standards were agreed upon and Larry sent off an email with a txt file that had some meeting notes. I got those and merged them with my notes and made a word file that I sent back to everyone for approval. I need to add pictures of the (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New German Loco: Green DB139 and more

Watcha mean? I've seen engines that were paper thin. River City Railroad (in OR) has 2 which have suffered badly at the hands of mother nature. I must however, congradulate James M on a very nicely done model. James P (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Legomodular standards?

A week or so there was a lenthy thread involving legomodular standards, and there was a conference call placed where something was agreed upon, I belive? Has this been hashed out yet, and if so, could someone please post the information for the rest (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New German Loco: Green DB139 and more

(...) curve (...) macaroni (...) Also, at six-wide with macaroni's, you can't mount "lights" and have two stud spacing between left and right "lights"...unless you stick the lights farther out in front than the macaroni's. I like no gaps. However, I (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

OK, I read the articles and basically there is not problem running two motors together. But if a new motor is run with an old motor the new motor will wear out faster than if it were run with a second new motor. So, if you want all your engines to (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: More Royal Blue pictures (and new Japanese Train site)

(...) Not really an answer to the above question, but I've just been browsing a Japanese Fan-created LEGO Train site that NYANTA links to and just saw this completed upside down "beer/wine" car: (URL) of fun new creations to enjoy at this web site: (...)   Re: New German Loco: Green DB139 and more

This is where 8-wide crowd wins out again. Commenting on your stud forward nose. I think it looks better than 2x2 1/4 curve (aka macaroni bricks?) bricks becase there are no gaps in your design. A macaroni brick desing would have unsightly (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New German Loco: Green DB139 and more

(...) More photos are now available at: (URL) left them at their original size for clarity (I hope). If they are just too big for download to your browser, please, let me know and I'll gladly shrink them down. One thing that I try to build into (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains) !

  Re: More Royal Blue pictures

(...) Agreed. As I recall, B&O was on a shoestring and couldn't afford a brand new streamliner, so the skirting was put on a loco, and new paint on some old stock as a poor second best. This was the depression, after all. Not every road was as rich (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: More Royal Blue pictures

(...) Wow. The one picture before suggested it, but these new ones confirm it! That is some very clever construction. I love the use of different directions to achieve the desired result. (forward, up, upside down) Which previously published train (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)
