Bright Future for LEGO Trains? (was Re:No LEGOFest...)

(...) <snippage galore> Really? I couldn't disagree more. I think the theme Trains could easily eclipse all other themes combined. If it can catch on as an accepted hobby among model railroaders, look out. LEGO trains are getting a lot of free (...)   Re: Train events calendar?

(...) Not at the this time, but you never know. Is there some thing going that week in Orlando that I don't know about or is it just a vacation? See Ya... Robin W. GFLTC (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: No LEGOFest...

(...) move (...) That was my guess as well, but like you sed after Christmas the train stuff was sold out (at H & R). And LEGO never sold all of the train stuff in stores in the U.S. And at the TRU in my area (back in 1992-95) the LEGO Train stuff (...)   Re: No LEGOFest...

(...) But will they sell track and part packs? (...) I don't think LEGO Trains will ever have a large following like Star Wars. But I think LEGO should still let hobby shops like H & R Trains, sell the all of the train stuff and the sets that work (...)   Re: Help building my own Train Base

(...) Ignore my last post. I see now. I tried something similar to this and the motor can spin to a 90 angle to the track with this method. But I guess this is the best we can do eh? Dean (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train events calendar?

Where are you? There are train events all over the world. If you live in or visit Florida, USA, stop in on one of the Greater Florida LEGO Train Club (GFLTC) at the following shows: GATS - March 11 & 12 - Ft. Myers, Florida H & R - March 31 thru (...) (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) So your custom plates only look 1 plate thick unlike the standard 2 plates thick style? Dean (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Help building my own Train Base

Dean- Here is how I'd do it: (URL) use the layer on the right for the bottom, and the one on the left on top of it. Since I build 8 wide, I need to make custom wagon plates all the time. I do, however, use 6 wide wagon plates for my box cars, but I (...) (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Help building my own Train Base

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but... I'm attempting to create a 6x24 train base. (Exactly like the engine plate but in Yellow) I'm having trouble creating the mount for the engine. Is there a way to make the plate look like a standard (...) (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Train events calendar?

Hello there, Is it possible to find a train events calendar for 2000? (train show-train fest)any kind of meeting about train. Is there some permanent layout somwhere? Thanks for your info! Jean-Marc (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: No LEGOFest...

(...) When I was last at The Construction Site, Crispin (person who runs the store) mentioned that Lego allows them as a privilege to order this year's train station, weighing station, etc. and they get a limited quantity. Something to do with the (...) (25 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

  Re: No LEGOFest...

Lego will not sell accesories to retailers! Wow, Rob, that is infuriating. I always guessed that it was the otherway around; that is, retailers couldn't move the trains so they stopped carrying all the train stuff. My guess was always a bit suspect (...)   Re: Toy vs Model...The real issue (was Re: Another 6wide/8wide ramble)

Oh, did I just get psyched out. I checked you layout outline and the pointer turned into a finger, and I thought, "WOW, a map to the layout. Very nice." I clicked and got the layout outline again...d'Oh! Actually, it is nice to see the organization (...) (25 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  No LEGOFest...

All, The GFLTC was going to organize a LEGOFest at the H & R spring show(1), but it’s not going to happen. I met with the owners of H & R Trains for more than an hour. I showed them my plans for the event and they thought it was great idea, but (...) (25 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

  Re: My EMD SD40-2
