Here is how I'd do it:

I'd use the layer on the right for the bottom, and the one on the left on
top of it.
Since I build 8 wide, I need to make custom wagon plates all the time. I
do, however, use 6 wide wagon plates for my box cars, but I use them for
their rigidity, not because they have holes for bogie plates-- I don't
use bogie plates (not very prototypical). I build a 1x rim around them
and use 2x2 turntables to connect my trucks.

| (...) Ignore my last post. I see now. I tried something similar to this and the motor can spin to a 90 angle to the track with this method. But I guess this is the best we can do eh? Dean (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

| I'm sorry if this has been asked before but... I'm attempting to create a 6x24 train base. (Exactly like the engine plate but in Yellow) I'm having trouble creating the mount for the engine. Is there a way to make the plate look like a standard (...) (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)
