Since I build 8 wide, I need to make custom wagon plates all the time.  I
do, however, use 6 wide wagon plates for my box cars, but I use them for
their rigidity, not because they have holes for bogie plates-- I don't
use bogie plates (not very prototypical).  I build a 1x rim around them
and use 2x2 turntables to connect my trucks.

So your custom plates only look 1 plate thick unlike the standard 2 plates
thick style?
