Do you like them? I think they are cool, because you can have stations on top of houses, and they move so quiet. They remind me somewhat of a futuristic hover-train. that´s probably why the first monorail was a space one. --Tobias (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Another 'wheel' option - if you're ok with cutting <gasp> Lego pieces - is to use the big grey hubs from the Model Team 5571 or 5563 trucks. I did this for my Hiawatha model (pictures to come, someday!) and they look sweet. And, you can (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Well, actually, if you battery or RCX power your 9V motor, you can run it on 4.5V track... If I was converting from 4.5V to 9V, I would just abandon all the 4.5V track, and go all 9V track. The 4.5V motors should run just fine on the 9V track (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Yeah, the middle technic pulleys are offset to the track around corners, but all sit dead center in straight-aways. I originally had rubber Technic belts from axel to axel to keep all of the wheels in motion, but it caused too much friction (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)
