I have tried this too, with technic 4.5 volt motors and with 4.5 volt train
motors.
They make a lot of noise and a lot of rpms... at the end the little plastic
axle of the 4.5 volt technic motor died due to heat. The motor itself
probably still functions, but with no axle it is not much of use to me...
