I think it's time for a motor grader! Future 8455?

Hello Lego Technic fans. Since the 1997 front end loader (8459), lego hasn't offered a large construction technic set. I think it would be a good idea to make a motor grader: 1) Pneumatic blade control 2) 4 or all wheels drive 3) powerfull engine 4) (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: G.I. needs help...

Well for landing gear I really like Karim's design on his orion. I havn't tried making it yet but I probally will sometime. Orion: (URL) You coule also try the patented Mark Sandlin Click Hinge Landing Gear Method (TM). Make sure you put some (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.technic)

Re: Force, strenght, did anyone ever measure?

Cool! That's an impressive machine! I was actually thinking about using 2x2 8t gears, but I don't have the room in my model (And I've run out of racks too). Encouraging anyway, I'll do some testing this weekend (and probably post a picture of the (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Striking Lego Clock

I've written up a better description of my clock on my web page at: (URL) has an avi of the striker in action, but the actual version in the clock is much improved. In the avi it rings like Bingdingdingding!, and in Clock #2 it rings like (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic) !

Re: Force, strenght, did anyone ever measure?

My model (link below) uses elevators with a double rack and double drive axles (four z8 pinions). I have tested it with a payload of 36lbs (more than enough for a complete scale-size Saturn V). By my calculations, thats 40N per elevator. The rubber (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

Re: 8479 Barcode Multiset No Longer Available

(...) Yep, it's the younger kids (under 10) that I'm focusing on. My daughter has gotten bored with the MicroScout, doesn't quite understand the Scout, and doesn't begin to comprehend programming the RCX, so programming the BarCode Unit is easy for (...)   Re: 8880 Pleasure...

(...) Totally agreed, Jason. I also recommend the 8868 AirTech Claw Rig as a pleasant diversion. Expensive and difficult to find, but a wonderful feat of Technic engineering. It has an on-board air compressor! - Sean (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Striking Lego Clock

This looks very nice. I have never given much thought to trying to make my Lego Grandfather Clock (www.ericharshbaregr...lock.html) 'chimable', but it's nice to see that it can be done. Good gear ratio. My clock does not run as consistently as I (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Striking Lego Clock

(...) Yup. Somehow it reminds me of the "robot" crane vehicle and cardiogram type device in the old ideas books. I'd like to echo Duq's request for more explanation of the various sub components :-) Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle T.V. advertisment

Yes, I have seen the T.V. advertisment in Germany too. Very cool! I got in on tape, but I am unable to change the fromat right now, otherwise I could put a version online. Too bad. Also, they started the campaign way too late, now that I already (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  8880 Pleasure.....

Well after approximately 5 hours, I just finished building my recently acquired 8880 Supercar, and frankly it lives up to the hype... Very good working features, drivetrain is quite remarkable. The best part is the number of beams and other useful (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.technic)

Re: 8479 Barcode Multiset No Longer Available

IMHO, the best thing one could do with this set would to take a Mindstorms set to it and combine them both. The big thing one might be missing is the problem of the sounds that the barcode unit makes, but that's not really that inviting, although it (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

Rick Hallman <Griffon_Industries@...emove.com> wrote in message news:G7ADxB.96s@lugnet.com... (...) For landing gear, you might want to check out the gear in the 8480 & 8425. (...) True enough, and that's the only gold lining about this dark cloud. I look forward to a ball/socket parts pack, or at least a cheaper set in which to acquire them. Dave! (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.starwars)
