I've written up a better description of my clock on my web page at:
http://www.best.com/~amnon/Homepage/Games/LegoClocks/index.html
It has an avi of the striker in action, but the actual version in the clock
is much improved. In the avi it rings like Bingdingdingding!, and in Clock
#2 it rings like BING!........BING!........BING!, at the pace you would
expect for a longcase clock. The sound is also screwed up on my machine, so
my AVI files turn out almost silent. I'll take a movie of Clock #2 in action
sometime. If I can get it at the instant it strikes, it is especially fun to
watch.
I am working on Clock #3, and the geartrain is hugely improved. I think I
can get it to run for 24 hours on 6 lbs. I'll post it when it is ready.
Thanks for looking at my inventions! Everyone I know just laughs at my work.
Thank goodness the internet is big enough that I can find a few like-minded
individuals.
