Thanks. Even though much of it is common knowledge for us, it took a whole lot of collecting, building, and searching the Internet to acquire that knowledge. My goal here is to put a lot of that knowledge together in one place.

I am certainly not the keeper of all Technic knowledge. To that end, I intend to eventually ask the Lego Technic community (you guys) to contribute your own bits of knowledge and history which I will add to the existing pages. But for the moment I am concentrating on just getting all the sets added.

There are many other things I would like to add after I get all the sets listed such as:
  • Add photos and descriptions of all of the alternate models.
  • Add external links to photos of the “real thing” that each model represents.
  • Add external links to technical resources on how things work (such as differential gears, engines, etc.)
  • Add pictures of the instruction manual cover and box for each set (I don’t have all of the boxes).
  • Add links to Ldraw files for each set.

As a side note, the bucket ends you are listing as “new parts” were actually quite old - in white, they were an important part in early train sets (I should know, I had one of those back in the early 70s...)

A couple of other people have mentioned this. In the context of Technicopedia, I am only discussing whether or not parts are new to Technic, not new to LEGO. Sometimes parts are new to both, sometimes not. For the most part, I only mention Technic specific parts, so there is no conflict.
