Re: FT vs LEGO pneumatics (was: extensions from hitechnicstuff)

(...) Of course not. I was only saying of myself in jest. (...) Certainly, sets are to be enjoyed whichever you like. (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 8448 gearing problems

(...) Agreed. I remember my 8448 as being very smooth when it was built, and I was able to motorise it using the older 9V ungeared motor no problem. If my memory is correct I geared the motor down by 9:1 before the gearbox, and it would even start (...) (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8448 gearing problems

(...) I think it sounds like you have a problem with a stuck axle or something like that. Try to see if all the axles in the gear box run smoothly. Notice that in every gear position, _all_ the gear cogs in the gear box spin when the wheels are (...) (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

"Johannes Keukelaar" <johannes@nada.kth.se> wrote in message news:j0owv0wtb86.fsf....kth.se... (...) Thanks. I thought it might have been me, but after reading all the posts about the problems with the pneumatics I thought I'd ask. Dan (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8448 gearing problems

(...) Have you made sure that all axles are loose and turn freely in the setup? If that doesn't work, you may need to redesign the gear box in order to properly motorize the car. The gear box in the 8448 is designed to have the wheels drive the (...) (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

  8448 gearing problems

I know I've seen something about this before in .technic, but I've been searching for ages and can't find any posts on this. I recently bought the 8448 (after a couple of years of waiting to find one in a sale, but finally gave in), and the gearing (...) (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: FT vs LEGO pneumatics (was: extensions from hitechnicstuff)

(...) I would not call anyone a "dumb fool" because they decided to open a set and enjoy it... I was just saying I thought it was a bit ironic that this particular (technic holy grail??) set would be a source... Sets are to be enjoyed. I am gonna (...)   Re: FT vs LEGO pneumatics (was: extensions from hitechnicstuff)

(...) Well, Larry, you can say there's always some dumb fool who has done it. As a matter of fact, I did have a MIB 8680 Arctic Rescue Base set. It's the only thing I have that's got the early pneumatics. So I simply had to open up the box to see (...) (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  A desperate man

Okay, someone out there must be able to help me! I am desperate for 2 Bionicle trading cards, T2 and 2 (Foil Tahu - not GMC Shielding) I keep looking on Ebay and Brickbay, but to no avail :-( I'm prepared to pay over the odds for them!!! Apart from (...) (23 years ago, 11-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: FT vs LEGO pneumatics (was: extensions from hitechnicstuff)

(...) Somehow I can't see opening a MIB copy of this just to get these parts. :-) Assuming you could find one. But if you found one that had damaged parts, using stuff from 9705 (or whichever it was) doesn't seem quite so bad. (23 years ago, 11-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: FT vs LEGO pneumatics (was: extensions from hitechnicstuff)

Hello, (...) Are you aware that the 8680 Arctic Rescue Base set (URL) from the Technic Arctic Action theme (URL) has two longer pneumatic cylinders. However, these are the older single-action variety ... Greetings Horst PS: I don't read in technic, (...) (23 years ago, 11-Nov-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: FT vs LEGO pneumatics (was: extensions from hitechnicstuff)

(...) The FT work is progressing rather slowly, I'm afraid, due to much difficulty in photographing the FT elements. They're mostly black and dull sort of red and don't come out well unlike the colorful LEGO bricks. The FT large cylinder is just a (...)   Re: good prices on Dacta Technic sets

(...) I've just posted a link to my hurriedly done inventory below the picture of the 9609 at my site. The items are grouped according to the compartments in the box.   Re: FT vs LEGO pneumatics (was: extensions from hitechnicstuff)

(...) I noticed on your site you have a bit of a comparison between FT & LEGO pneumatics. Do you have a comparison of the cylinders? I'm wondering whether FT have a longer cylinder than LEGO? Thanks ROSCO (23 years ago, 10-Nov-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: good prices on Dacta Technic sets
